Summer 2023 Theme: Who do you say...?

Passage: Mark 8:27-29 – ESV

And Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” And they told him, “John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.”

Questions. Let’s talk about questions. We all have them, and it is not by accident, they are hardwired into us at birth. We are born with a naturally inquisitive nature. For example, who has not asked or answered the simple questions of “why” or “are we there yet?” Some questions are often not important or even necessary while others carry much more weight, with and their answers having crucial, even eternal implications. Jesus Himself asked and answered many questions. In the passage we will explore this summer, Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” and then asked, “But who do you say that I am?” Come join us this summer as we look deeper into this exchange with His disciples as well as many others…so who do you say He is? It’s going to be fun!
