  • Greg Oakley

    Executive Director

    Greg and his wife Shelia have served at TVR since 2001. They are originally from Farmville, North Carolina where Greg owned and operated a paint store. They have three sons and three daughters-in-law, Brooks & Ashlyn, Alex & Brianna, and Logan & Katie. Greg loves the ECU Pirates, playing guitar, and cooking food that rivals Emeril.

  • Shelia oakley

    administrator / Business Manager

    Shelia has been at TVR since 2001. She has served as the finance director since 2008 as well as being the official camp mom. Shelia loves peanut M&Ms, spending time with her boys and daughters-in-law Brooks & Ashlyn, Alex & Brianna, and Logan & Katie. She enjoys wearing long-sleeved shirts in the middle of summer and being "camp mama" to both campers and staff.

  • michael peterson

    Maintenance coordinator / Wrangler

    Mike, also known as "Peety", has been on staff since 2005. Originally from Fort Myers, FL, he met his wife Ashley (who served on full time staff for many years) while serving at camp during the summer of 2006. They have a son Chael, and three daughters, Eden, Jordan, and Brooke . Mike likes to ski, ride horses and dominate anyone who is willing to play him at any board game.

    Logan joined the staff in December 2014, and as you can see from his description above, wears many hats at TVR! Growing up as a camp kid, Logan knows the impact that staff have on people's lives. Logan married Katie in 2018. Logan enjoys playing music, sports, and friendly video game competition with his wife.

    Support Staff

    Katie is a native of Lynchburg, VA and joined our staff in September 2015 after serving on summer staff and coming as a camper for many years. She married Logan in 2018, and graduated from Liberty University the following spring in May 2019. Katie enjoys outdoors, cooking, and dominating her husband at the above mentioned friendly video competition.

  • Patrick Sullivan

    Support Staff

    Patrick grew up on the Carolina coast in Beaufort, SC, and served on summer staff for a few summers prior to joining full-time staff in May 2018. He married his wife Tara in May 2020. Patrick enjoys Kendama, disc golf, and relaxing outdoors. 



    Tara joined full time staff at TVR in May 2020, after marrying her husband Patrick. She grew up in Sanford, NC, and visited camp for the first time with a group from her hometown for the Christmas Tree Retreat in 2017. She graduated from Appalachian State University in May 2020 with a degree in Exercise Science.

    Bri joined our staff in September 2015. Bri is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and came to us through participating in our Missions to the Mountains opportunity with her church. Bri enjoys playing piano, exploring local trails, and practicing hospitality.

    Dan is originally from Pennsylvania, and joined the TVR staff in December 2020. He married Maddy in 2019, after they met while working at a summer camp in PA. He and Maddy made it to TVR after meeting a previous summer staffer/camper while working in Minnesota. They are both passionate about camp ministry and the impact it can have on people's lives. Dan enjoys the outdoors, football (Go Birds!), and being an obnoxious Penn State grad.

    Maddy grew up in West Virginia, but made Plumtree her home in December 2020 when she joined the TVR staff with her husband Dan. The Duffields were introduced to TVR by a previous summer staff/camper while working in Minnesota. They are both passionate about the impact camp ministry can have, and actually met while working at a camp in Pennsylvania! Maddy enjoys laughing, crafting, and fries.

    Events Coordinator / Social media / marketing

    Julie joined the staff in August 2014, and is married to Walker. They have two little girls, Gradie and Ellie. After being on full-time staff for five years, she now serves TVR remotely from Greenville, SC, where her husband is on staff at a local church. Julie enjoys reading, being outdoors, and coffee with good company.
