Activities

  • The Tower

Our Climbing and Rappelling Tower stands 50 feet high. The climbing side offers three separate routes that vary in difficulty as well as an overhang that makes for a fun challenge for any climber, regardless of age or experience. The rappelling side offers a stunning view as it sits on the top of our property overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains.

  • The Zipline

The zipline is one of our most popular activities. Take off from the deck of the chalet into the pond!

  • horses

We have eleven horses at TVR and offer trail rides (weather permitting) on every retreat. We also have a rodeo that campers can participate in each Friday night during summer camp.

To inquire about our horse program, email Michael Peterson.

  • hiking

Our most popular hike is a one mile ascent to a rock called Plow Point. It offers a stunning view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It takes about 1 hour to get to the top and about 30 minutes to hike back down.

  • tubing

We take a one-mile tubing trip down Plumtree's most exciting and adventerous river (the Toe River).

  • Archery & rifles

Test your marksmanship with a bow and arrow or a BB gun at our shooting range.

  • disc golf

Our nine-hole Disc Golf course traverses most of TVR's property. Bring your own discs or borrow ours - just be careful, it is an addicting game.

  • gagaball

TVR's newest addition is the gagaball pit. This fast-paced game allows for numerous players to participate at once, as well as quick turnaround, so people are constantly getting a chance to play. Also known as hillbilly dodgeball or pigpen, players are constantly hitting, dodging and trying to catch the ball in order to be the last one standing. Be sure to try our newest programming feature!

  • challenge area

Introduced in the fall of 2013, our challenge course took elements from our old challenge course and moved them to a brand new spot and expanded the selection. From old favorites such as the "spiders web" and "trust fall," to new elements such as the "inverted wall" and "wire walks." This area has plenty of stand-alone elements which also allow for it to be used for timed challenge course events.

Be checking back as we continue to add elements to the overall master plan of this new and exciting area.
